The first morning of my new job

Jesper Blog

I remember the first morning of my new job after graduation.

Dressed in a new shirt, pants, and shoes, I’m all fired up and walking excitedly to the office.

Upon reaching the building, an unexpected thought flashed across my mind:

“Is this the “right” job for me?”

Suddenly, fear gripped my heart, and worst-case scenarios started filtering in and out my mind.

“What if I don’t like this job?”
“What if I can’t handle this job?”
“What if the company fire me?”
“Will I be able to find a new job if I am forced to leave?”
“How will I survive if I don’t have an income?”

Stopping The U -TURN

My positive mental attitude did a major U-TURN with just one random thought.

We all have the habit of over analyzing one thought, allowing it to spiral into an array of catastrophic thoughts and worries that we come to know as anxiety.

The problem was your mind was not under your full control…

What do you think happens if we stop chasing after a negative thought the moment it springs up in our minds?

In just seconds, you eradicate the negative thought and brings your mind back to its positive domain.

When you’re able to control your thinking fully, you will be able to control your life fully. When you have POWERFUL mental strength, you can eliminate any negative thoughts in a split second.

I love the following advice from Eckhart Tolle:

“See if you can catch yourself complaining, in either speech or thought, about a situation you find yourself in, what other people do or say, your surroundings, your life situation, even the weather.

To complain is always nonacceptance of what is. It invariably carries an unconscious negative charge.

When you complain, you make yourself into a victim. When you speak out, you are in your power.

So change the situation by taking action or by speaking out if necessary or possible; leave the situation or accept it. All else is madness.”
